Today, the IJF has the pleasure to announce that the next edition of the Judo World Masters 2012, will be held in Almaty, Kazakhstan, next January.
This competition, which gather the 16 best judo players per weight category, based on the ranking list, is now becoming a "classic". After the first edition in Suwon (KOR) in 2009, and the second in Baku (AZE) in 2010, the tournament will move to the largest city of Kazakhstan, approximately 1000km South-East from the capital, Astana.
The name Almaty comes from the Kazakh word "apple" and the name is often translated as city "rich with apple". Without any doubts, the top ranked judo players will come to Kazakhstan to harvest the best fruits and to concluded their 2011 season with a top result.
