Judo Wa: A Quiet Saturday at the Club

So often our focus is on the BIG things—contest victories, grade promotions, big numbers at training, important appointments—when, in fact, it's the day-to-day life of the club that often matters the most. Most of the following photo's (by Chris) were taken on a slow Saturday. Number's weren't great and there were mostly low grades on the mat ... But there was a good atmosphere for Judo.

A staged photo for Chris' entry into a photography competition. The theme was the "spirit of Auckland."
For the cause of "art" Khan was thrown repeatedly.

Simon doing a form of mystery "air" waza

Quality banter ... the heart and soul of University Judo & BJJ

Ray even manages to laugh as he gets caught by a left Ogoshi

Molly studying like the dedicated fighting machine she is

Simon grimacing in the face of "pommy" Judo.

Another staged photo that busted up Khan's wrist.
Arch rivals locked in a struggle to the death

Jordan and Andrew having a quiet conversation. "Stand up straight!"

Sensei Mark Lonsdale visiting from the states.
In the background a dirty dog leg.
Strangely, all the photo's of Dave involve him throwing small people with force.

Igor narrowly avoiding a dirty makakomi
The set up for "air" waza

I don't know ... some kind of pony trick?

Normally it's craft beer ... but after Judo any beer will do.
