Australia continued to blow the opposition away at Judo’s Oceania Championships, winning 10 gold medals as the seniors took centre stage in Nouméa, New Caledonia.

Brothers Joshua and Nathan Katz accounted for two of the podium-topping performances, taking the men's under 60 kilogram and under 66kg category titles respectively.

Joshua finished ahead of French Polynesia’s Yvan Shan and home favourite Clement Muller, while Nathan staved off the challenge of silver medallist Cedric Delanne of French Polynesia, and bronze medallists Alexander Bishop of New Zealand and Pierre Charlier of New Caledonia.

Jake Bensted was another Australian male winner in the under 73kg class, ahead of New Zealand’s Lee Calder and bronze medallists Gaston Lafon of French Polynesia and Adrian Leat of New Zealand.

Eoin Coughlan won the under 81kg, ahead of Fiji’s Josateki Naulu and New Zealand’s Ivica Pavlinic.

Jake Andrewartha took victory in the over 100kg, ahead of New Zealand’s Sam Rosser and Samoa’s Derek Sua.

Meanwhile on the women’s side, Chloe Rayner and Katharina Haecker beat compatriots Amy Meyer and Maeve Coughlan respectively to take the under 48kg and under 63kg titles.

Hannah Trotter claimed the under 52kg crown, ahead of New Zealand’s Justine Bishop and New Caledonia’s Rosa Delots,.

Ellen Wright took top honours in the under 57kg, ahead of New Zealand’s Darcina Manuel and New Caledonia’s Cindy Rival.

Miranda Giambelli prevailed in the under 78kg, ahead of New Caledonia’s Marie Genevieve Atuvaha.

New Zealand struck gold through Jason Koster in the men’s under 100kg, ahead of Australia’s Duke Didier.

Moira De Villiers won the women’s under 70kg, ahead of Australia’s Sara Collins and Aoife Coughlan.

But he home crowd celebrated Teva Gouriou’s victory in the men’s under 90kg, ahead of Australia’s Diego De Souza Barreto, and bronze medallists Cyril Gaudemer of French Polynesia and Sebastian Temesi of Australia.

The Oceania Championships are set to conclude tomorrow after a Kata Open and Veterans Open.
