Judo. Ben UY Japanese trained Black Belt attacked with a machete by three thugs in his home

At three in the morning three thugs armed with a variety of weapons broke into Bens flat smashing the back door and Bens door and then attacked him with a machete, using his highly developed  recently acquired Japanese judo skills he dodged most of the attacks suffering cuts to one hand and a cut finger tendon to the other.
Update
There were three armed intruders one had cricket bat ,one had machete,and one had shovel.

Using kiai they counter attacked and chased the thugs out the door who fled in a white car but not before getting the rego.
Police were still seen there at 9am this morning.

This is the same street and three doors away from Auckland Uni judo club H.Q. Sensei was safely tucked up and a sleep thru it all.

Ben life threatning operation was a success ,and he will be discharged tomorrow,the 1st question he asked the doctor was will lose my hand?
The next question was can I have your phone number?
At this stage it has not been established if the doctor was male or female.
