Johan and I have been looking at a great opportunity for Auckland Squad's Cadets & Juniors - there is a great training and competition opportunity in August.
We are currently trying to gauge interest levels so we can ensure an appropriate athlete to coach ratio for this trip.
We have been invited to New Caledonia, to participate in training and a competition - this is open to cadets and juniors only.
Invitations have gone out to teams in Australia; New Zealand; Vanuatu; Tahiti, Fiji - there will also be 30 Japanese and of course a large number of New Caledonian judoka.
We are looking at two possibilities:-
Possibility One:- Team travels on Monday 14 August / competes on Saturday / returns to Auckland Sunday 21 August - this would allow for 8-9 training sessions.
Possibility Two:- Team travels on Wednesday 16 August / competes on Saturday / returns to Auckland Sunday 21 August - this would allow for 4-5 training sessions.
We will be aiming to run this on a very tight budget. However, personally, I struggle with option two (and only 4-5 trainings) - and most of our cadets and juniors are at a level - where the training volumes are key, so I am looking for any $$$ spent to maximise training exposure.
Please can expressions of interest come to BOTH Johan and I bosjudo@hotmail.com robertlevy@xtra.co.nz - and given it is during the school term - indicate where OPTION ONE or OPTION TWO is possible.
Warm regards…
