Hi Team…
Heaps going on, here goes… (do mark these dates in your calendar, things are busy)
1. National Champs - Wellington
So proud of the Auckland Crew… many fought well, some placed well, and some did not meet their own high expectations. However, for me as Area Coach - I was so proud to be associated with our athletes and the Auckland Clubs (a big thank you from the athletes to parents, club coaches and supporters).
Firstly congratulations to our National Champions:- Tatalong; Mitchell; Taylor; Michael; Justine; Jurlina; Haley; Tara; Chelsea; Lynton;
…and congratulations to our medalists:- Lewis; Vinay; Matt; Luke; Keegan; Zeke; Zack; Teddy; Charlotte; Megan; Cristyn; Savannah; Amber (where the hell have you been Amber?); Blake
A total of 37 medals taken by Auckland Squad members…. well done!
Also.. so sorry to see some of our squad damaged… we wish you swift and full recoveries - can't wait to have you back on the mat.
2. Training this Saturday (7 October) is On!
Training is on as usual. Maybe a little more grid-iron for warm up (except for Jurlina, who is excused from grid-iron this Saturday only - as a reward for winning 2 x National Titles)
3. Tauranga Visit - Saturday 28 October
Randori 11.00am-1.00pm / 3.00pm-4.30pm - the Mighty Waikato will be there as well… looking forward to an "old school punch-up" - heaps of good natured, fun randori… anyone over the age of 40 will be expected to bring their A-game trash-talk (on or off the mat)
Sunday 29 October - I will be running a 1.5-2hr technical workshop (aimed at competition judoka) - likely to be a 9.30am start.
4. Auckland Squad - End of Year Swim & Boil / Saturday 11 November
Saturday 11 November, we will be training a little bit further north at the Nippon Dojo… straight after training, we keep going North to the Waiwera Hot Pools (this schedule should allow the Whangarei crew to join us).
Siblings; friends; families; super-models all welcome at the pools : )
5. National Training Camp - Nelson 19-21 January 2018

6. Term 4 - Squad Training - Sunday Techniques and Circuits
In addition to Saturday randori - the plan is to have Sunday sessions, involving technique work and judo specific circuits.
More info to follow - but likely start time is 11.00am / venue Judokwai.
Love and wet kisses to all…
Lots to do in 2017 - keep the work ethic high!
