Fundraiser for Hayley Gatward

Would you like to help Hayley on her Judo Journey?

Hayley is doing well in her judo and has a busy year. 

On the 8th July she fights the Secondary School Champs in Tauranga.

She is in the NZ Judo Team. She fights the Asian Cup in both the Cadets and Juniors in Hong Kong on the 14th and 15th of July, and she fights the Asian Cup in the Cadets and Juniors in Macau on the 21st and 22nd of July. She will attend a three day training camp in Macau between the two competitions.

She competes in the Auckland International Open on the 28th and 29th July.

In 2018 she has already travelled overseas three times.

In March she fought in the Queensland International Open and won both the Cadets (under 18) and Juniors (under 21) titles in the under 70kg divisions.

In April she fought for NZ in the Oceania Judo Union Championships in Noumea. Again she won both the Cadets and Junior titles in the under 70 kg divisions.

In May she spent two weeks training at Toin University of Yokohama in Japan. She has been offered a scholarship which she intends to take up in 2020.

Further travel in 2018:

- North Island Championships – Kapiti. 

- Sydney International Open.

- National Championships – Christchurch.

- Training at Toin University.

- Other trips may eventuate. She is on the long list for the Buenos Aires Youth Olympics.

Her club and coach are amazingly supportive but otherwise these trips are all self funded.
