Jaekyoo Kim leaves us for the 'Naki

Today, Jaekyu Kim (also known as the shorter half of Team Kimchi) leaves us for 7 months to work south of Mount Doom (aka Hawera) following the completion of his Masters degree.

Jaekyu (along with the other half of Team Kimchi, Steven), started training with us in March 2016 and has been one of our most regular attendees ever since, especially for my Saturday morning classes. Throughout his time with us he has never shied away from randoori no matter how big, fast, skilled or Russian the opponent is, demonstrating true Judo spirit.

Given that the closest judo club to him is all the way in New Plymouth and only trains once a week, we decided to try make up for his impending lack of judo by ensuring he trained for every round of randoori and finishing today's session with a 5 minute shark tank (video below).

May the spirit of Team Kimchi stay strong (no pressure Steven).
