The martial arts seem to attract more “special” people than any other physical pursuit on earth. Judoka are, generally, slightly strange (particularly in countries where Judo is not a popular sport) BUT wannabe ninja’s are in a class of their own. What follows is an insight into the ninja mind. This is a real letter to a real martial arts store. Here we see the ninja mind is clearly strong when it comes to the application of training to domestic situations, but it is also slightly deficient when it comes to basic math and physics:
“Hi...having recently bought a two storey house with no means of escape from the second floor. I have been looking for a grappling hook that could be used out a window as a means of escape in the event of fire. I note in the advert for the one in your site it states not for climbing, but would it suit the use I need? Max of two people to get out in emergency. Cheers [name withheld]”
... And the moral of the story? Give up the ninjitsu and come and play Judo.
