If I may be so bold as to interpret the sentiments of my Sensei in sending in these photo's ... there comes a time when you understand the cliche: "youth is wasted on the young." It appears to be important to come to that moment of realization without regrets. It is also apparent that, despite the best of intentions, it is an understanding that cannot be communicated between generations.
So what, particularly as a young Judoka, is one to make of these ramblings? It is this: celebrate and make the most if every moment and every opportunity! Give it heaps. Perhaps, a better way giving voice to the fullness of the matter can be said simply: "Kia Kaha." Judo is a good adventure and a fine path. You will meet some interesting and good people along the way.
Hi Rick... a few of us were wondering if that umbrella also comes in any "hetro" colour variants?
ReplyDeleteHow many national titles? ...how many Masters titles? ...7th in the Tokyo Olympics in 1972!
...and you throw all this away in seconds by being seen with that umbrella.... Rick!!!!!
Disappointing!!! Are you trying to encourage a new and more sensitive breed of judoka?
Lose the sissy umbrella... or don't bother coming back!!!
Best regards

(we hang our heads in shame Sensei)
