Kodokan Message of Support

Rick-san,

I am sending this message on behalf of Kodokan.
We are very concerned about the great damage done by the earthquake just a couple of days ago in Christchurch.
Is everything alright with you? I hope the casualties are not going to increase any further and that no one in your kinship has ever got involved in it.
The tragedy has been broadcasted and reported on every medium in Japan and all of us are very concerned about your safety.

Although you may be spending a tough time at this time, we would appreciate it if you could send us any update of yourself, the Judo community in New Zealand and people around you.

Best regards,

Kodokan International Department

President of the Kodokan Judo Inst .

Thank you for your kind enquiry regarding the terrible earthquakes in Christchurch recently.
To my knowledge Christchurch has lost three judo dojo's with no loss of life.
Christchurch Judo school whos chief instructor Graeme Spinks quickly found a new dojo which suffered minor damage this week.
It appears unfortunately, that a numbers of Japanese English students from a local English school are missing which is very sad for their parents back in Japan.
It will be a long time before Christchurch returns to normal.
Regards
Rick Littlewood
