Short and Sweet....

1. Well done to the Auckland Crew who took part in the National Training Camp in Nelson - great camp, and awesome to see you all take advantage of this great training opportunity.  Auckland Squad consisted of way more that a third of athletes on the mat - aiming to get that figure to 50% by 2019.

Also sincere thanks to the JNZ crew and locals who put this camp together and led it so well - particularly good to have Ivica Pavlinic sharing his vast technical and coaching knowledge.  Great talk on Development Pathways from our HPD Jason Koster.  Great venue and unbelieveble food!

2. Thanks to Auckland Judo Association who chipped in for half my costs in being there - really appreciate the support.

3. Squad Training Saturdays 3-5pm Judokwai - randori and drill focus.

4. Squad Training Sundays 11.00am - 12.50pm Judokwai - one hour technical training / 40 minutes judo specific circuit training …this week we will focus on cross-grip sumi-gaeshi and athletes choice static nage-komi

All the Auckland Clubs are back now (as far as I know) - please make the most of all training opportunities - gonna be a great year.

Below are Squad Attendees at the National Training Camp in Nelson - if any of this crew is from your club, be very proud - they trained with determination and focus… representing your club well.

Finally… a big shout out to Justine who continues to keep us up to date at an AKL and National level through her good work on Facebook… thank you!

See you Saturday and Sunday… Rob

PS …word on the street is that Rick Littlewood is celebrating his Kodokan 8th Dan this weekend - awesome Rick!
