1. Do something to support the people of Christchurch, those directly affected by the terrorism in Christchurch and the NZL Community

Kia ora everyone,
The tragedy that occurred in Christchurch last Friday was an atrocity that should not have happened. As a multicultural club, we felt that we had to do something to help out and thought we could use judo to do so.

Basically, from 12pm after our usual Saturday technique session, to raise awareness and collect donations for the official Christchurch Victims Fund, we will be setting the dojo timer for 50 x 4 minute rounds (1 round per victim). The goal is to have people doing randoori for all 50 rounds (ideally at least 3 pairs on the mat at a time). It will be a mix of tachi-waza and ne-waza (groundwork) rounds (so BJJers, feel free to join in!). Anyone wishing to participate or spectate just needs to add a donation (either in cash or through the GiveaLittle link below). You don't need to stay for the whole event, but the more people we get, the more money we can raise and the fresher the rounds will be!

For anyone who is unable to participate or spectate on the day, feel free to donate to our cause in the link below:

2. Order your IJF back patch by end of day tomorrow (Friday)
Hi guys,

I’m doing an IJF back number order, shipping is EUR 35 so it makes sense to do one big order for the club.
If you want to order a back patch please, please send me the below info by Friday 29th March – Justine_Bishop@hotmail.com
Name:
Name on back patch: This needs to be your real name . You can use this link to preview what it looks like -https://www.ijfbacknumber.com/termek1.html  eg. Mine say ‘J.BISHOP’
Size: Small or big (check the link to see if you’re allowed the smaller one)
Quantity: You will need at least 2 (one for each gi)
Each patch is EUR 3, once I have made the order I will send through your ‘invoice’ with the shared shipping costs and exchange rate etc. So don’t worry about payment at this stage.
Shipping takes 2-3 weeks. Once arrived you can collect from Nippon or Saturday squad trainings – I won’t be sending them all around Auckland sorry.
I’ll be placing the order next weekend, so please get your details through on time. If you have any questions, I’ll be back at Nippon training some point next week, otherwise email is best.
Thanks
Justine

4. Tauranga Randori Visit - 2 great training sessions!

A great visit to Tauranga last Sunday - massive thanks to https://www.bushandbeach.co.nz for sponsoring a bus to take us all down and back (even if the driver was a bit ugly).
https://www.bushandbeach.co.nz are the simply the best when it comes to Eco Tourism, Small Group Tours and showing off the very best of NZL.  Check out Trip Advisor (they hold the Certificate of Excellence)…. Unique, Unforgettable; Authentic!
If you have visitors coming to Auckland - recommend the best!

Big thank you to Tauranga Judo Club - Kevin and his great team (we love you Hiromi, you fed us)…

Judo - Pizza (thanks Tauranga Judo Club) - and swimming… what an awesome day out - well done to our Japan crew 13 randoris in a row!!!!  Well separated by 12 pizzas and a swim, but great effort!

Great day out - great facility - great training partners - great atmosphere - great pizza (did we mention pizza)… it was great!

PS Terrible turnout to Uni for Squad Training last Saturday - when a club makes its premises available to the Squad and only 3 Squad members (other than Uni Club) show up (all from Howick)… that is embarrassing and humiliating.
Shore scum, bow your heads in shame!  You are quite happy for me as coach to turn up to support you twice a weekend - I am President of Uni, I asked my club coaches for a favour, so we had a place to train… you let me down as a coach and personally.
It was a great practice with almost 20 on the mat (thanks to Uni)… very little thanks to Auckland Squad.
Big lack of respect for me; for judo; for host club Uni.
I call on a volume of personal favours to get you free training every week - so your $$$ and your parents $$$ can go towards competing - disappointing team!
