Celebrating Rick

This week (in particular, Wednesday the 24th) marked one whole year since Sensei Rick Littlewood's passing. To celebrate his memory, University did a couple of commemorative events:

On Saturday, we held a club dinner at Tanuki, organized by Rob which was well attended. This also coinciding with Stu's birthday and (as Rick would have done), he was given the gift of cabbage.

On the Wednesday (the date that Rick passed away), Ben went through the 6 sankaku techniques that Rick would ensure we practiced at least once a lesson. At the same time, former regular member Dwain also happened to be visiting, helping us celebrate the occasion with some beverages.

We hope that Rick enjoyed what he saw from the great dojo above (though knowing him, he was probably mocking my instruction of the sankaku from his throne of beer boxes).
