To the members of Auckland Uni Judo Club…
On behalf of the Leadership Team, wishing you and your families a good and safe festive season.
The last 12 months have certainly taught us to appreciate our time on the mat together.
It was wonderful to sit down together at Tanuki for an end of year dinner + recognised Rick Sensei’s birthday.
Junior Club…
Big thanks to our Junior Club Coaches - Head Coach, Sensei Garth will be in touch with our Juniors in Jan 2022 RE start dates.
Ray, we miss you, and it will be great to have you back from the UK.
Senior Club…
The final session for the year will be Friday 24 December from 6.15pm - guaranteed to be a fun session, and I would like to extend an invitation to all Auckland Club members who hold a current Vaccination Pass.
Judo starts back on Monday 3 January with Open Mat sessions - and formally coached sessions will be commencing on Wednesday 12 January.
Any members who are not enrolled for the National Training Camp at the end of January - talk to Rob fast!
Finances…
Club members were not charged via HelloClub in the first part week back from Lockdown.
In the second week of training, payments were not started in recognition of the broken up year + the period of 25 Dec - 2 Jan with no judo. HelloClub fee weekly payments have only now started up and should stay in place (unless another lockdown occurs). Please do not be surprised the next week's payments do occur:-
1. we have rent to pay
2. we held back on starting weekly payments for two weeks after lockdown, as this was simpler than pausing payments between Christmas/New Year.
Senior Club members, please remember NOT to park on Woodhall Rd during sessions.
Finally, I will close by thanking the Club Leadership Team and Coaches. It is not easy to run a not-for-profit sports entity, and together, the Leadership Team and Coaches do an amazing job of making judo available to so many Aucklanders - thank you!!!
Warmest regards… yours in judo,
Rob Levy
