Red Light Notice

 Dear Senior Club Members

It is concerning and a little scary to have Omicron looking to impact our community so directly.

  1. For those who have not already - please forward quentin.thurier@gmail.com a copy of your current vaccine pass. Our club should have this on record.

  2. If you are sick or have been exposed to anyone with COVID symptoms, please do not come to judo until you have been tested and cleared (by the Ministry of Health) - if you need any clarity do not hesitate to phone 0800 358 5452.

  3. It is crucial that we observe all COVID protocols:

    • all club members (and anyone entering the club) over the age of 12, must have a current vaccine pass (no exceptions)
    • do not attend judo if you are unwell
    • before stepping in the club, scan in using the COVID Tracer App
    • you must sign in via HelloClub as you enter the club - whether or not you are training
    • we are avoiding having spectators in the club - however, if you are entering the club for anything but training… please wear a mask
    • the mats and facilities are to be cleaned and disinfected after every training session
    • maximum ventilation incl doors open and industrial fan
  4. Junior Club training is planned to restart on 2 Feb - please do not enter the club until junior judoka have exited (Garth will be finishing and exiting junior judoka at 6pm sharp) - we want to avoid ‘cross-over’ and additional exposure.

  5. In the unfortunate event someone has been in the club who has COVID, the following actions will be taken:

    • full co-operation and transparency with all Gov’t Departments and medical authorities

    • we will attempt to contact all attendees at that session

    • all Government guidelines will be followed

The Club will be subject to a full 'deep clean’ prior to any further usage… the pink alcohol misting will be applied to all mats; surfaces that people have contact with (incl changing areas; toilets; exit/entry points; door handles etc) - there will also be full ventilation including the use of our industrial fan.

...if we become aware of someone who attended one of our classes with Covid… everyone at that class becomes considered a close contact (assuming the government definition of close contact remains the same)… and we follow the government regulations for ‘close contacts’. This is currently…. 'The isolation period for close contacts is 10 days from last exposure. You will need to be tested immediately and on day 5 and day 8 after last exposure'.

Finally… Senior Club, please do not park your cars on Woodhall Road - and when entering or leaving the club under red-light restrictions, please wear a mask where possible.

Keep safe…

Robert Levy
Club President
